We suggest SHOUTcast V2.x, because it offers more flexibility!
- With V2.x there are 2 types of codecs in AutoDJ, mp3 and aac+, with V1.x there’s only mp3.
- Possibility to automatically disable AutoDJ when connecting live to the server is given only in V2.x!
- V2.x supports multiple radio channels on single server [Mount Point] to broadcast e.g. in different bandwidth.

To offer your listeners an experience in CD like quality we suggest a 128 Kbps stream!
With 128 Kbps the stream is stable and continuously playing at lower speed ADSL or mobile internet as well.
We’ve included the second mount point of 48 Kbps in some broadcasting packages. With this alternative stream your listeners are able to enjoy your radio program even if they have a low speed mobile internet. One hour of listening with 48 Kbps stream is equal to 21 MB of traffic.
If your audiences’ focus is on high quality sound experience, a 256 Kbps stream is the best choice for a good balance between traffic and sound quality.

The amount of listener slots is a value that defines how many listeners could connect to the stream at the same time.
Once the limit of slots is reached, all additional users will not be able to connect. We recommend keeping track of your stream statistics!

Upload Music for Playlists
If you want to generate playlists for broadcasting music whenever no live show is scheduled, you need to upload music files to the streaming server!
Once you’ve uploaded files to the server, when you delete or move a file on the server, database will be automatically updated.
After uploading you can manage playlists you’ve generated with drag and drop feature in media explorer.
To increase the efficiency of used disc space we suggest uploading music files with a bit rate in accordance with your streaming bandwidth. It makes no sense to upload 320 Kbps files when you’re broadcasting with a 128 Kbps stream!
